{Ten Things on Tuesday} Nineteen.

I was traveling all weekend for the DiabetesSisters Weekend for Women conference in Raleigh, NC. Yesterday, I was editing the video covering the event, which is now up on DiabetesMine. Needless to say, I haven’t had much time to blog, so that’s why I missed on my regular weight loss update. So the quick update: I lost .8 pounds. I’m now down to 196.2. Woohoo! I’ll have more next week. :)

1. What is the weather like in your city today?

Right now it’s in the low 50s, but it’s still fairly early. It’s supposed to get up to a high of 72 degrees with mostly sunny skies. Sounds wonderful!

2. Do you like the zoo?

The zoo can be fun, but I don’t tend to go very often. I did go to the Bronx Zoo a couple years ago, as part of my original 101 Things in 1,001 Days Challenge. Zoos tend to be kinda boring for me. There are other things I’d rather do. Once you’ve seen one zebra, you’ve seen ‘em all.

3. Do you eat coconut?

I don’t think I’ve ever had coconut all by itself, but I certainly have it in other things.

4. Have you ever hammered a nail? Are you good at it?

Yep! I’ve lived alone enough that it becomes a necessity. But I don’t really like it. I’d much rather have Erik do it and then yell at him that it isn’t straight. I don’t think he enjoys that nearly as much as I do.

5. Does your family have a vacation destination that you visit often?

Not really. There was a resort in Central Oregon we went to for a few years, but eventually stopped to do other things. My family was more of a “Where do you want to go next?” kinda of family. Erik and I also have not created any sort of tradition with our travel, other than visiting our families.

6. How many pillows do you sleep with?

Just one. I used to have two when I had a double bed and slept alone, but now that I share a bed, I’m back to one.

7. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

Definitely check my iPhone! Staying in bed but having something to keep my mind going definitely helps me adjust to being awake.

8. Will you send your kids to summer camp?

I love camp, and will definitely encourage it!

9. What do you put in your baked potatoes?

I really don’t like baked potatoes, so I have to make sure it’s pretty moist. So I use quite a bit of butter and sour cream. I’ll use cheese, bacon bits or chives if it’s available too.

10. Did you take swimming lessons as a kid?

Yep! At least, for one summer. I’m not a terribly great swimmer so I don’t think it lasted very long.
