{Wedding Wednesday} You Are Cordially Invited…
It’s been two weeks since I sent out my wedding and now I can share my wedding invitations with you all without wondering if a guest is going to see it first on my blog.
Like my save-the-dates, these invitations were custom-made by one of my bridesmaids, Erica, who is a graphic designer and fellow PWD. She worked tirelessly while also working a demanding job, which was no easy feat! Although my save-the-dates were clever enough with the Oregon Trail theme, I decided I didn’t want to go overboard into the land of kitschy, so I had to think about what kind of invitation would represent “Oregon” the best. As I wrote about in a previous post, I really like the idea of having a “tree” in my invitations. I think they are gorgeous and wanted to play up the greenery of Oregon. However, Oregon is best known for their fir trees (specifically Douglas Fir) and it’s very difficult to find stock images of fir trees that aren’t Christmas trees! I often joke that Oregon is the Land of Christmas Trees, and I say that for a reason!
When I was in Oregon in February, I was inspired by the treelines that cover the hills around Portland, and that lead up to our signature landmark, Mt. Hood. After describing my idea and combing through various stock images, Erica finally came up with a really great wedding suite.
Apologies for all the name-blocking and location-blocking. A blogger’s gotta have some privacy! Actually, I have decided not to take Erik’s last name professionally (I’m not about to throw away 10 years of Google results just because I’m getting hitched!), which means I will remain Allison Blass on all social networking sites and this blog. Erik and I agreed to keep his last name on the down-low as much as possible. I also don’t share the names of family or friends, because they didn’t sign up for Internet exposure.

Anyway!
We’re also doing a post-wedding BBQ at my parent’s house the next day, which should be loads of fun. We are not leaving for our honeymoon until Monday, so this will give us a nice extra day to relax with our friends and family. Don’t worry – details on the honeymoon are coming soon!
And then here is our “details” card, which has everything on the hotel, the transportation, and a link to our wedding website.
And then of course, the most important part of the entire invitation (well, to me): the RSVP! Because how will I know who is coming without it? I decided to mix things up a little bit with the RSVP card, and instead of saying “Accept” or “Regrets” or something formal, I did this:
There are so many options for how to do the RSVP card and that was such drama! I think at the end I came up with SIX different ways that I could write the RSVP text, and then I put it up for a vote with my parents, my bridesmaids and Erik. And this was the winner. So far, it’s worked out well.
Now I’m on pins and needles as the RSVPs start trickling in…

It looks so NW with all the pine trees! Love it
Getting excited for you!
They are just beautiful! I know you’re excited!
This are so fantastic! I love that it fits your personality and they are so unique!
Cute! I’m keeping my fingers crossed you don’t have to deal with as many late RSVP-ers as we did!
I am so excited for you and Erik! Can’t wait for pictures!
Allison, these are SO adorable! They are perfect for both of you. Love it!!
Love this. Feels very cozy & informal, but still like an event to anticipate, if that makes sense. Can’t wait to hear more.
