Things that make me want to take a swig from a bottle of wine…
… Every month I have to send in my COBRA payment. It’s not that much – a mere $236.64 – but it’s important because of that whole chronic illness bit. COBRA payments need to be postmarked by the last day of the month, or you get kicked out of the COBRA system. So it’s really really important that you don’t forget. On Tuesday (which was the last day of the month), I got this strange feeling that I had forgotten to send it in. I decided to take a peek at our bank account, and lo and behold, it hadn’t been deducted out of our account. Cue panic. I was working in Manhattan that day because I had a dress fitting appointment in the evening, so I spent the next two hours hauling my laptop bag and two bags of shoes and undergarments down Manhattan’s loooong avenues, going from our bank to the post office (both of which Google maps told me were in different places) all the while trying to get COBRA Administrator to actually find me in their system so I
could get my account number to write on my check. Did I mention my cell phone was about to die and I forgot to bring a charger?
I managed to get everything in the post on time, but I was so tired and flustered, I could barely focus at my fitting. Then, on Wednesday, I was doing some online banking and guess what got deposited on Tuesday (the last day of the month), but didn’t get posted online until Wednesday? The COBRA payment that I had sent in two weeks ago. Bloody hell.
… The insane cost of travel, which means that not all of our friends and family can come to the wedding. I know they want to, and it just sucks they can’t be there!
… Did I mention I have a bruised tailbone? It still sucks.
… Not having an air conditioning unit in our living room and all the places being sold out of them. When you work at home, not having an A/C unit really hinders productivity (says the girl hanging out a Starbucks for the second day in a row).
Things that make this week rock my socks…
… My bachelorette party is this weekend!
… We attended a beautiful wedding last weekend and it makes me even more excited to go to my own! I can’t believe it’s NEXT MONTH.
… On Sunday, we had a great evening spending time with some of Erik’s friends in Chicago. Our friends had a firepit in their backyard, and it was so much fun to sitting and chatting. It really makes me wish we had a group of friends here in Westchester! We have plenty of friends, but they are almost all one-on-one relationships. We don’t really have a “group” of friends anymore. I guess that goes in the “bottle of wine” category.
… I didn’t gain nearly as much weight as Tuesday’s weigh-in led me to believe. I only gained maybe half a pound last week. Still the wrong direction, but better than I thought.

Girl you EARNED that wine.
I hate bill paying hassles SO MUCH. Totally would wine about that too, and you have every right too.
Hooray for bachelorette parties and a wedding that’s in a month!!!
Is there anyway they can count the extra payment towards next month? Maybe your just gave yourself the gift of not having to worry about it during your wedding month?
Yep! They’ll just credit it to the next month. The next check I need to send in is just sometime before July 31.
