Current Book: So I really didn’t end up reading The Elegance of a Hedgehog. Bummer. I started to read it, and got about 30 pages in, but then… stopped. For some reason. Now I’m getting ready to start our next #twookclub book, which is The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugindes. I read his book Middlesex, which Erik recommended, and really enjoyed it. But I’ve heard mixed things about this book so we’ll shall see.

Current Movie: Erik and I went and saw Sherlock Holmes last week for Christmas. It was very cute, although we didn’t think it was as clever as the first. Moriarty didn’t seem as scary or dangerous as we would have liked. But we still enjoyed the stylized fighting and witty banter.

Current Song: Christmas music has been permeating our lives for the last month, so I don’t really have any favorite current song.

Current Restaurant: Erik and I haven’t been eating out too much in December, but we did revisit one of my favorite Mexican restaurants on the Upper West Side called Harry’a Burritos. It’s not even that authentic, but they have the BEST taco salads. We just found out they have a restaurant in a town not too far from us, so I’m excited that we don’t have to go all the way to the city to have it.

Current Needs: To not eat for the rest of January. The holiday season has done NOTHING for my waistline.

Current Dream Travel Destination: My cousin, who is very interested in genealogy has found out quite a bit about my grandma, who is adopted. We found out that we are part Irish, and my cousin made contact with a distant cousin of my grandma. This cousin gave some more background on our family, and we found out my great-great-great-great grandfather is from Kerry, Ireland. So now I want to go there!

Current Bane of My Existence: Airport security. With all the travel I’ve been doing lately, I just absolutely hate it.

Current Inspiration: 12 Changes in 12 Months! It’s a new blogger initiative for making small changes throughout the year to see improvements. I’m feeling vet inspired by all the people who are participating with me!

Current Favorite Website or Blog: I’ve been really impressed with Abby from A Geek Tragedy’s writings lately. She leads a very different life than me, in that she’s divorced, lives with her boyfriend in Texas and they are about to move to South Korea to teach English. Wow! But she tells very relatable stories and has a lot of wisdom in her twentysomething years. I really enjoy reading her thoughts on life.

Current Excitement: One of my best friends is getting married in Vegas this week! I’m a bridesmaid, and we have the bachelorette party, bridal shower, rehearsal and wedding this week, plus we’re in Vegas. So excited!

Current Blood Sugar: 320 mg/dl (I just had Mexican at Treasure Island and crepes at the Paris casino for dessert — cut me some slack!)

I didn’t realize you were also doing 12 Changes, so awesome! :) I have a post going up tomorrow about my January goals for 12 Changes. I’m super inspired about it right now as well, and I just love how many people are participating!

I think this is the first holiday season that has passed where I feel like I was in control of my eating habits. Of course, who knows what will happen over the course of this weekend once I’m in Orlando because I eat TERRIBLY on vacation, like it’s a big free-for-all and the last time I will ever have the chance to eat. Sigh.

I like the way you do this meme! I’ve never liked this one (for me, at least) because there are so many categories I would have no answer for. May have to borrow your way of doing this some month!

I stole this from Kathleen awhile ago and eventually changed some questions that really never applied. Sometimes questions will be harder than other months but mostly I’m good with them all. You could certainly edit any that you don’t care for!
